*DRUM ROLL* introducing TEAM CHOSIN !

Here are 11 funky questions I asked my new teammates so ya’ll can get to know them a little bit more. This is a team created from the girls from the co-ed teams from Agape and Ohana for the month of November. The guys are doing ministry this month and have created their own team called “It’s Raining Men”. First, let me introduce my girls:

Bailee who is from Tulsa, Oklahoma and is 22 years old // she is a ray of sunshine and authenticity

Caitie from Minnesota who is 24 years old // she is our financial leader on our team and an elementary science and English teacher

Emily who is from Ohio and is 24 years old // she is one of the two logistic leaders on our squad and always seeks to lighten up any mood in the room

Macky who is from Texas and is 24 years old // she co-leads our team and is always looking cut and almost always smiling

Jo who is from Texas and is 22 years old // she co-leads our team and brings her genuine awkwardness onto it

Erika is originally from Columbia but now lives in Florida and she is 26 years old // she is one of the two Beauty-for-Ashes leaders on our squad and she is always filled with words of encouragement and wisdom

—————– on to the questions!!

First word that pops into your brain after hearing the word “snow cone”?

Bailee– Josh’s. It’s a local snow cone shack where I’m from…super good if you get gummy bears in it!

Caitie– summer

Emily– blue

Macky– Bahama mama

Jo– waffle cone

Erika– ice cream

What new hobby would you like to pick up?

Bailee– This is going to be the most girl world racer answer, but I’m gonna say it anyway. Watercolor. I bought some in China because they were packaged like oil pastels which I thought was so cool, but I didn’t end up using them until the end of Kazakhstan. I forgot how much fun it is to make little notes and cards for people, and watercolor gives me an easy way to do that! I have no idea how to properly use them, so stay tuned!

Caitie– Hand lettering and latte art

Emily– Master the art of sailing. If anyone has a sailboat and a crap ton of patience, let me know.

Macky– Photography

Jo– Painting with acrylic paints and surfing

Erika– Calligraphy and learn a new language like Italian

How much water is adequate in a day?

Bailee– You should drink enough water that you feel awake and alive, but not so much that you’re about to pee your pants every second of the day. It’s a hard balance, but I think it’s worth the adventure to find it

Caitie– all of the above

Emily– the limit does not exist

Macky– 2L or two hydro flasks plus a little more

Jo– half a Nalgene

Erika– 8 cups of water

If you were a character in a movie, who you is?

Bailee– If I were a character, I would be Tris from Divergent. I just think she’s cool, and I can relate to not knowing what I’m doing or how I got here but jumping into the unknown to see where I’ll land. But I have to clarify, I only really like her character in the first movie/book. So yeah, I’d either be her or maybe Anna from Frozen haha Bailee– If I were a character, I would be Tris from Divergent. Caitie– Bailee can’t be Anna cuz I’m Anna because a buzz feed quiz told me once and they are never wrong plus she makes friends with a reindeer and that’s the dream.

Emily– I want to be Dorothy from the wizard of Oz. no reasons, but that I am looking for the yellow brick road.

Macky– I want to be Haley Scott because she is real, relatable, and quirky and she is married to Nathan Scott.

Jo– I want to be the 5F tornado from Twister because it is intimidating, and it eats everything, and it is the complete opposite of me because one I am not intimidating and two I am a very picky eater #iamavegan .

Erika– I would like to be Sandra Bullock from the Blind side because of her ability of seeing the need and filling it.

No-regret item you brought on the race?

Bailee– Other than the Bible (teehee), I’d have to say I do not regret bringing my sleeping bag. A lot of people said to ditch it and just bring a sheet or liner, but it’s been real cold on our route, and I’m so grateful I brought my mummy bag!!

Caitie– my travel mypillow

Emily– deodorant but I ran out but I was able to buy more

Macky– my fan

Jo– *CLAPS* MY ALUMINUM STRAW

Erika– emergenC

God-better-show up goal this month?

Bailee– FUNDRAISING.

Caitie– fundraising

Emily– to be fully funded by our deadline by November 30th

Macky– to be fully funded by the end of the month #fullyfunded #JesusIneedyou

Jo– raise $7000 in 10 days

Erika– not sure

How important are hugs?

Bailee– SO important! Even if you’re not PT (physical touch), which I am not, getting a warm embrace from someone you love is good for the soul!

Caitie– Depends on the person, my mood, the hour, the weather, if I have had food, so basically it depends, but I do think they are very important and I like hugs.

Emily– please reference my water answer

Macky– I think hugs are important, but I want to receive and give hugs to those I love.

Jo– I really want hugs all the time from people I want hugs from.

Erika– For me personally, they are not the most important thing, but I believe it is important to show love other people by giving hugs.

Something no one on the team knows about you?

Bailee– When I was maybe twelve, I fell climbing back down a tree. I can climb up all day long, but when I start to come back down I get nervous…and that’s probably why.

Caitie– I wanted to be a forensics specialist.

Emily– I have drunk milk out of a coconut.

Macky– I won numbersense in school.

Jo– When I was little I wanted to try belly dancing.

Erika– My mom had a monkey growing up, and I fractured my wrist when I was 12 in PE class.

Is playing with hair considered the unnamed sixth love language?

Bailee– YES. Plain and simple.

Caitie– it’s pretty magical

Emily– sure (shrug emotion, the old school version)

Macky– yeah, sure

Jo– yes, but it’s looked hard to run your hands through dreadlocks

Erika– for me, no

Do you like nicknames aka do you have one or more?

Bailee– I’m alllll about the nicknames, but I don’t have very many I get called regularly myself. The most common one though is Bai…simple and classic. Sometimes I get called pumpkin or bagel or baby spice.

Caitie– I also respond to KaiZee, KaiZee rapper of the universe. I do not respond to Cate. Caits is fine. Also, if you just yell loud enough, I will generally respond.

Emily– My Portland friends call me Scooter. Also Emily has a ridiculous amount of syllables for being so short, so Em is always good.

Macky– The name I go by is one, so yeah; My sister calls me Lenny.

Jo– You can call me Jo, not Joey, not Jo Jo, not Joanna. Just Jo.

Erika– Yeah, my family called me Kika. My nephews called me Kiki, and the girls call me Rik.

If you were a room in a house, which would you be?

Bailee– I would be the living room. I’m all about chilling in sweats and fuzzy socks sipping on a cup of hot cocoa or nibbling on a slice of pizza with a friend or family member. The living room is where you can just fall onto the couch and be yourself – no judgement and no pressure. I love it.

Caitie– I would be the front porch with some nice chairs, a swing benches and some cute little lanterns with plants—obviously.

Emily– I think I would be THE back yard. Lots of room for activities and sunshine and just fun. There would definitely be a trampoline and a pool.

Macky– The back porch because it is my fave place to have quiet time and be with friends.

Jo– I would be the secret rooms in between the rooms so I can pop out and scare people.

Erika– I would be the kitchen because it is the heart of the house.
